Gonzalo Garcia-Donato is a Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. He worked with NISS as a postdoc in 2004.

Garcia-Donato was born in Spain. He earned his first B.S. in Statistics in 1992 from the University of Alicante, and his second B.S. in Mathematics in 1998 from the University of Valencia. In 2003, he obtained his Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of Valencia.

Garcia-Donato’s primary focus has been applying to Bayesian methods to a variety of sectors. These sectors include model selection-hypothesis testing, validation of complex computer models and variable selection. In addition to his professorship, he serves as an Associate Editor for Bayesian Analysis, the journal of the International Society for Bayesian Analysis.
