Bhramar Mukherjee is John D Kalbfleisch Collegiate Professor and Chair of the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She is also a Professor of Epidemiology and Global Public Health. Bhramar completed her Ph.D. in 2001 from Purdue University. Her principal research interests are in electronic health records, shrinkage methods, data integration and studies of gene-environment interaction. Principal areas of collaboration include reproductive epidemiology, cancer epidemiology and environmental health. Her methodological research is funded by NSF and NIH. She is the Associate Director for Cancer Control and Population Sciences at the University of Michigan Rogel Cancer Center. Bhramar is the founding director of the University of Michigan’s Undergraduate Summer Institute on Big Data. She is a fellow of ASA, AAAS and recipient of the Gertrude Cox award. Bhramar has held many important administrative positions in the ASA, ENAR, IISA and COPSS including serving as the overall program chair for the Joint Statistical Meetings. She is the Chair elect for COPSS for a three year term starting 2019.
