Hongmei Jiang was appointed as the Associate Director of IMSI on August 1, 2024. She is a Professor of Statistics and Data Science at Northwestern University, where she has been a faculty member since 2005. Since 2021, she has served as the Director of the MS in Statistics and Data Science Program at Northwestern, overseeing its launch and growth. She served as the Local Committee Chair for the 2017 International Chinese Statistical Association (ICSA) Applied Symposium, and as the General Chair for the 12th (virtual in 2021) and 13th (in-person in 2022) ACM Conference on Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, and Health Informatics (ACM-BCB). Her research focuses on developing statistical methodologies and computational algorithms to analyze and interpret high-dimensional -omics data, including genomics, epigenomics, and metagenomics.
