A postdoctoral position is immediately available within Dr. Andrew Holbrook's research group at the Department of Biostatistics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). We are seeking a creative and collaborative individual interested in developing cutting edge AI tools that shed light on the functional and longitudinal progression of Alzheimer's disease. The postdoc will join a multidisciplinary and highly collaborative team led by Dr. Holbrook and Dr. Theodore Zwang (MGH/Harvard Medicine) and supported by the Cure Alzheimer's Fund, the Kavli Foundation and the Karen Toffler Charitable Trust. They will have the opportunity to learn and apply state-of-art deep learning models in collaboration with neuroscientists and neurobiologists in Southern California.
The successful candidate will benefit from a supportive lab environment and the highly collaborative UCLA community.

Duties and Responsibilities

(1) In this role, the appointee will be actively involved in multiple projects, immerse themself at one of the world's leading institutions for biomedical research, while learning skills in statistics, deep learning and AI; (2) The appointee will also have the opportunity to strengthen their leadership and collaboration skills by interacting with graduate students, writing fellowship applications, and assisting with manuscript preparation.

Position Qualifications

(1) A recent doctorate degree in the field of statistics, computer science, applied math, computational biology, neuroscience, neurobiology or related disciplines; (2) Strong written and oral communication skills; (3) Strong data science background with Python and longitudinal data analysis experience.
