Texas A&M University - Postdoctoral Fellow

Position Description

The Department of Statistics at Texas A&M University (TAMU) is inviting applications for a postdoctoral fellow to work with Profs. Debdeep Pati (TAMU) and Dipankar Bandyopadhyay (Virginia Commonwealth University) on a NIH-funded study to develop efficient Bayesian methods for analyzing periodontal data derived from electronic medical records in both national surveys, and longitudinal observational practice-based settings. Topics that would be explored include deriving summary indices, causality evaluation, precision dentistry approaches, and software/product development via R/RShiny packages. Depending on the candidate's interest, there is also a possibility of getting involved in a related computational neuroscience collaboration.

Position Qualifications

An ideal candidate should have a PhD in Statistics or Biostatistics, with expertise in Bayesian theory and methods, supplemented with high-powered data management and computing skills in R, C++ and Python (preferred).
