The Department of Statistics at the University of South Carolina offers PhD, MS, and Master of Applied Statistics (MAS) degrees, and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Statistics (CAS); both the MAS and CAS degrees are offered on-line. It also offers a BS degree in Statistics. The graduate program has over 50 full-time students and 80 distributed learning students, while there are about 40 undergraduate majors.
Currently, the department has 13 tenure/tenure-track faculty and 3 instructors. Major research areas of the faculty are in Reliability and Survival Analysis, Latent Variable Models, Semiparametric Methods, Bayesian Statistics and Bayesian Nonparametrics, Highly Structured and High Dimensional Data, Simultaneous Inference, and Stochastic Processes.
