JSM also offers a unique opportunity for statisticians in academia, industry, and government to exchange ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration. Beginning statisticians (including current students) are able to learn from and interact with senior members of the profession.

With a focus on the 2017 theme, Statistics: It’s Essential, the JSM program consists not only of invited, topic-contributed, and contributed technical sessions, but also poster presentations, roundtable discussions, professional development courses and workshops, award ceremonies, and countless other meetings and activities. Spanning the better part of a week, JSM runs from Saturday, July 29, to Thursday, August 3, with the technical sessions beginning Sunday afternoon.

The NISS Distinguished Service Award will be presented at the workshop. The Award was established by the Board of Trustees in 2005 to recognize individuals who have given extraordinary service that significantly advances NISS and its mission. How to participate Affiliate Liaisons and Junior Liaisons are invited to register (no fee, but advance reservations required for the lunch). Liaisons wishing to bring prospective new Affiliate representatives as guests to the luncheon are encouraged to contact Randy at officeadmin@niss.org |
