The Department of Statistics at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in the area of spatial/spatio-temporal statistics, geostatistics, image analysis, shape analysis, statistical climatology, precision agriculture, or environmental statistics, starting August 1, 2025. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in statistics, data science, or a related discipline by the time of appointment. Scholarly credentials should reflect a strong commitment to research and teaching in one of the aforementioned areas or a closely related field and must have demonstrated potential in research and instruction. The successful applicant will be expected to develop a research program that will be competitive for external funding, be engaged in the activities of the Department, and play a major role in building the University's missions in research and teaching.
