The Department of Statistics at Purdue University is a leading center of statistics research and education. The department currently consists of around 35 tenured or tenure-track faculty members, over 150 graduate students and over 200 undergraduate statistics majors. Many faculty members hold joint or courtesy appointments in departments and colleges across Purdue University and substantial collaborative opportunities exist. Purdue University, a member of the Association of American Universities (AAU), has been particularly recognized for exceptionally strong agriculture, business, engineering and science programs. The main campus of the university is located in West Lafayette, IN, approximately 60 miles northwest of Indianapolis and 110 miles southeast of Chicago. Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities for this position include the development of a successful research program, securing external funding, teaching and mentoring of graduate and undergraduate students, and contributing to the department's mission through service.
Position Qualifications
We seek outstanding candidates with a PhD in statistics, biostatistics, computer science or another related field at the time of appointment. We invite applications from candidates interested in all areas of statistics, data science, AI, allied disciplines and interdisciplinary applications.
